Attention professional dog walkers, re Willards Woods

Willards Woods is a large conservation area in Lexington. It is available for use by dogs on leash or under effective voice control. However, several residents nearby have been complaining to the town regarding several dog-related issues. If you are a professional walker who uses this area, please help keep it open for everyone by following a few simple rules. This is basically common courtesy.

1) Please pick up your dogs' poop. It isn't fair to unload ten dogs to run free to defecate everywhere and not clean up.

2) Please keep your dogs leashed until they enter the conservation land. The neighbors have been complaining about unleashed dogs running through their property. Again, nobody wants a pack of dogs in their front yard.

3) There is a large parking lot on North St, now open. Please try to use this lot - that way the residents who live near the Brent Rd entrance won't have to have cars parked in front of their homes all day. If you park near the Brent Rd entrance, please park on the woods side, not on the side with houses.

Please respect Willards Woods as conservation land open to everyone; it is not a dog park. Be considerate of others, so we can justify keeping this area open to all, especially to responsible owners who would like their dogs to excercise and socialize. Thanks for reading.
